Person, Product, Organization
The Avolve ecosystem has five named entities. Understanding which is which prevents confusion about who speaks, what exists as a product, and what exists as a role inside the game.
| Entity | Type | Analogy | Has Social Media | Voice |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Joshua Seymour | Person | Dario Amodei | Yes | "I" / "me" |
| Avolve | VideoGame (CreativeWork) | Claude | No | N/A — it is a product |
| Supercivilization | Organization + Cooperative | Anthropic | Yes | "we" / "us" |
| Superachiever | Role (game concept) | — | No | — |
| Superachievers | Collective role (game concept) | — | No | — |
Two entities have a public voice: Joshua Seymour (the person) and Supercivilization (the organization). Avolve is a product — like Claude, it does not have social media accounts. Superachiever and Superachievers are what people become through the game, not separate entities with their own presence.
The Anthropic/Claude Analogy
The pattern is the same one you see at Anthropic, Vercel, and other builder-led organizations:
| Avolve Ecosystem | Parallel | Schema.org Type |
|---|---|---|
| Joshua Seymour (Person) | Dario Amodei (Person) | Person — author, creator, founder |
| Avolve (Product) | Claude (Product) | VideoGame — a CreativeWork |
| Supercivilization (Organization) | Anthropic (Organization) | Organization + Cooperative |
Joshua Seymour is an author who created a CreativeWork (Avolve — a real-life VideoGame) and founded an Organization (Supercivilization) that publishes and maintains the game.
Three-Scale Ontology
Reality and the game both operate at three scales. Each has a generic form (what already exists in the world) and a game-specific form (what Avolve models):
| Scale | Generic | What It Looks Like | Game Entity |
|---|---|---|---|
| Individual | A human person | A person with a name | Superachiever |
| Collective | A group of persons | A team with a shared identity | Superachievers |
| Ecosystem | A network of individuals and collectives | An organization encompassing many teams and people | Supercivilization |
A person is always an individual. They become a Superachiever through the game. A group is always a collective. They become Superachievers through shared gameplay. The ecosystem exists regardless — Supercivilization names the regenerative version of it.
"Supercivilization" Carries Three Meanings
| Meaning | What It Is | Example Usage |
|---|---|---|
| The Organization | The legal entity that publishes Avolve | "Supercivilization is a cooperative..." |
| The World | The game world, the destination we are building toward | "Welcome to the Supercivilization" |
| The Ecosystem | The network of all individuals and collectives operating regeneratively | "The Supercivilization ecosystem..." |
The organization is a vehicle for building toward the world. The ecosystem is the emergent result. The Supercivilization as a regenerative civilization is emerging globally regardless of this work. The organization is what we are building to accelerate that emergence.
What Makes Someone a Superachiever
A user of Avolve and a member of Supercivilization is a Superachiever. The users of Avolve and members of Supercivilization are Superachievers.
These are not separate entities with their own accounts — they are what people become through gameplay. The distinction matters: we do not create social media accounts for "Superachiever" or "Superachievers" because they are roles, not entities.
Open Participation Model
You do not need to work for the organization to play the game. The game is open. The organization builds and maintains the game.
| Relationship | Meaning | Who |
|---|---|---|
| Member | "I play Avolve" | Anyone who joins the game |
| Participant | "I participated in this quest or event" | Action-level engagement |
| Contributor | "I contributed to this puzzle or project" | Work-level engagement |
| Employee | "I work for Supercivilization" | Organization-level (a much smaller set) |
Individuals, collectives, and ecosystems can participate in the Avolve game and help bring about the Supercivilization without being part of the organizational structure of the Supercivilization entity.
Current State
Supercivilization currently has one founder — Joshua Seymour. We aspire to become an ecosystem with many individuals and collectives associated, similar to how Vercel or Anthropic grew from founders to communities. We are not there yet, and we are honest about that.
What This Is Not
- This is not a traditional corporate org chart. The five entities describe a person-product-organization pattern, not reporting lines.
- Superachiever is not a job title. It is a description of what happens when a person uses the Genius process with modern tools — observable, not aspirational.
- The three-scale ontology (individual, collective, ecosystem) is not a hierarchy of importance. All three scales operate simultaneously, and progress at one scale feeds the others.
